Bloody Mary
Bold, savoury and wonderfully refreshing, a Bloody Mary brings together tomato juice, vodka, fresh lemon and a little spice. Serve it ice-cold with crisp celery and a lemon wedge, and adjust the heat to make it your own.

Ingredients
- 45 ml vodka
- 90 ml chilled tomato juice
- 15 ml freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 2 dashes Worcestershire sauce
- 2–3 dashes Tabasco or other hot sauce, to taste
- 1 small pinch celery salt
- Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
- Ice cubes
- 1 celery stick, to garnish
- 1 lemon wedge, to garnish
Method
- 1
Add the vodka, tomato juice, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, celery salt and black pepper to a mixing jug.
- 2
Stir gently until combined. Taste and adjust the lemon, hot sauce and seasoning.
- 3
Fill a tall glass with ice and pour the cocktail over it. Stir gently to chill.
- 4
Garnish with a celery stick and lemon wedge. Serve immediately.
Tips
Chill the tomato juice first and start with less hot sauce; you can always add more. Stir gently rather than shaking vigorously. For a Virgin Mary, omit the vodka and add a little extra tomato juice. Worcestershire sauce often contains fish; choose a suitable fish-free version if needed. Contains alcohol: for adults only.
